Charleston Visitor Reception and Transportation Center 853-8000 375 Meeting Street, Charleston
Conveniently located in the heart of Charlestons historic railroad district, the Charleston Visitor Reception and Transportation Center is a beautifully restored 1857 railroad warehouse. Offering a variety of interesting exhibits, as well as Forever Charleston, a slide show about the citys history, the Center is the perfect place to begin any exploration of Charleston. Maps, brochures and books are available for the adventurous. Ample parking is available, allowing visitors to connect with a tour or the Downtown Area Shuttle. Tickets for events and attractions are also on sale. The Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) offers transportation throughout historic district. Visitors can park at Visitor Center, 375 Meeting St., or at any city-owned parking garage while they ride. Single rides $1.00 (exact change required), multiple day passes also available. Other city bus routes available at the CARTA Web site.

The Centers friendly staff can answer questions and direct visitors to places of interest.
